Azumanga daioh is a quirky little anime series, based on a series of four panel mild gag manga series. The short format of the episodes works well together as they tie in the little aspects of the girls lives for a lively and fun series.

Referred to sometimes as the Seinfield of anime, the series is ultimately a show about nothing... That doesn't make it a waste of time by anymeans, with a strong focus on humour ranging from side splitting antics to dead pan non-sequiturs.

Azumanga daioh revolves around a group of girls making their way through highschool, with little snippits of their lives. Despite the snippet format, it comes together to form a coherent story as we watch the girls progress towards their graduation, going swimming, competing in sports learning to fear Yukari's driving, surviving exams and building a strong friendship.

It's a really lovely and amusing series, and the girls are all lovely individuals with strong characterisation, and intriguing ways of interaction.

I highly recommend this series to everyone!
